Is that bluish thing in the middle a salt glacier? If so, I'll guess that this is in the zargos mountains of Iran. Assuming you haven't worked out rotations yet, I'll say the eastern part.

Took me three continents before I found it... best clue (besides the geology) was the lack of patchwork satellite overlays. Looks like a structural geologist's paradise.
Any idea how old the sediments in that photo are (I assume the deformation is Pennsylvanian/Permian Pangea-related- but it could be mediterranian, I suppose)?

that's a pretty good guess...but, no, it's not the Zagros Mts...

I actually don't know too much about the geology here...
It is in an area of Algeria called the Saharan Atlas Range (considered a subrange of the Atlas Mts).
